CrossFit 646 Coach since June 2024 (Coaching since 2009) 

Coach Dr. Joe has been a recent addition to the coaching staff in June 2024. Dr. Joe originally started in CrossFit in 2009 and participated in the first CrossFit Open. While going to medical school, he started a nonprofit CrossFit affiliate, CrossFit True Blue, training medical students and local residents. During residency, he took a break from coaching to focus on his surgical education. After his training was completed, Dr. Joe moved to Tucson to start his practice as a General Surgeon with CMG Surgical Specialists.

Since joining CrossFIt 646 in April 2023, he has wanted to give back to the community that inspires him to be a better, stronger athlete. Coach Dr. Joe places emphasis on solid movement mechanics, form, and mobility during class. He believes all athletes, despite any limitations, can tailor CrossFit workouts to their athletic needs. He hopes to continue to contribute to the amazing community built at CrossFit 646 and hopes his education and experiences continue to enhance his athletes’ training sessions.
