An Arizona native, Shanae grew up performing functional fitness. Growing up on a family farm in Queen Creek Arizona, she was active in helping her grandfather with anything and everything she could. In High school, she found her love of weightlifting, and this was her primary fitness regime in college and early adulthood.
Married with 2 children, Shanae loves to spend time with her family and friends. It was a friend and co-worker who suggested CrossFit to Shanae while she was pregnant with her second child. Having always been a runner and weightlifter, Shanae always enjoyed high intensity, varied workouts and so in 2018 after the birth of her second child, she reached out to 646 to set up a trial class. “I don’t remember that first class other than it was a very difficult lifting and cardio intense workout. I remember it was so hard and I was struggling through it, but Mel (Melissa York) was right there pushing me and cheering for me. I was hooked.” Shanae has been a member of CrossFit 646 ever since.
Shanae has an Associate’s Degree from Brown Mackie College and worked for 8+ years as an Occupational Therapy Assistant at various hospitals in Tucson, Az. She specialized in wound and burn therapy as well as Orthopedic and Traumatic injury therapy. Her love of helping people achieve a higher level of function and increased quality of life drove her career. When Chad pursued his dreams of opening his own business, Shanae soon followed and left her career in Occupational Therapy to help Chad with their successful Home Inspection Company.
Shanae found that even though she loves helping her husband, she was missing that feeling from helping people improve their lives. Coaching at 646 has helped fill that gap and she loves being able to help our 646 members make gains in the fitness journey.
